The TM Global Hospital Award 2012 goes to Japan, into the prefecture Fukushima.
Why?
One hospital in the Fukushima prefecture will take the award representatively for all hospitals and clinics in the natural disaster area of March 2011 with tsunami and radiation disaster.
Nurses and doctors in these hospitals did the hardest work someone can do and until today they are still handling problems from the disaster. Even their family members, relatives and friends got injured or died due to the disaster, but they worked ahead and took care for each patient...

Der TM Global Hospital Award 2012 geht nach Japan, in die Präfektur Fukushima.
Warum?
Ein Krankenhaus in der Präfektur Fukushima wird stellvertretend für alle Krankenhäuser in der vom Tsunami und der Strahlenkatastrophe betroffenen Region, den Award in Empfang nehmen.
Pflegepersonal und Ärzte dort haben den wohl schwierigsten Arbeitsalltag gemeistert und kämpfen noch heute mit den Folgen der Katastrophe. Auch ihre Familien und Freunde wurden bei der Katastrophe verletzt oder getötet, dennoch kümmerten sie sich mit aller Kraft weiter um alle Patienten...

In January 2010, , Dr. Chatree Duangnet, CEO Bangkok Hospital Medical Center in Bangkok, got the information about receiving the award with his Bangkok Hospital Medical Center in Bangkok, Thailand. His first reply:
“I am very happy to hear the result of the TravelMedicus Global Hospital Award 2010. It is a real honor for our hospital during our endless quality and patient safety journey.”
Im Januar 2010 erhielt Herr Dr. Chatree Duangnet, CEO des Bangkok Hospital in Bangkok die Nachricht, dass das Bangkok Hospital Medical Center in Bangkok, Thailand, die Auszeichnung erhält. Seine ersten Worte lauteten:

The TravelMedicus Global Hospital Award is open to all hospitals taking care for patients regardless of gender, race, nationality, ethnical or national origin, marital status, age, disablement, social background or sexuality.
The goal is to honour and promote hospitals offering "more than others" in a safe and competent way with the focus on globalization and global healthcare.
Der TravelMedicus Global Hospital Award wird jährlich vergeben an Krankenhäuser, die sowohl nationale und internationale Patienten ohne jegliche Einschränkung und Vorbehalte behandeln.
Damit sollen Kliniken geehrt werden, die "mehr als Standard" sowie eine fachkompetente und patientensichere Behandlung auf internationalem Niveau bieten.
